The Greek Island of Zante, or Zakynthos, has a temperate climate with warm summers boasting over 3000 wonderful hours of sunshine every year.  Situated in the Ionian Islands the weather on Zante is typically Mediterranean with a nice long summer season with perfect conditions for a relaxing beach holiday.

Zante Weather in Summer - May, June, July, August

June averages temperatures of 24C rising to 26C in August. July receives up to 12 hours of sunshine a day. The temperatures in the height of summer sometimes reach above 30C although Zante enjoys these hot months tempered by the cooling winds called the 'meltemi' that blow across all Greece from the north. 

Zante Weather in Spring and Autumn - March, April, September, October

Spring sees the temperatures start to rise hitting highs ranging from 14C to 19C during April and 18C to 20C in May the start of the summer season. Evenings can be a little chilly but the sea is warm enough to swim in and the weather generally very pleasant.

Autumn has temperatures much like the spring but with an increasing likelihood of rain. The sun shines between 7 and 8 hours a day during October, the end of the summer season.

Zante Weather in Winter - November, December, January, February

During November and December the daily average temperatures fall to between 14C and 16C dropping to 11C in January. Winter is very much the rainy season in Zante with December being the wettest month. The high level of rainfall throughout these low-season months helps to maintain the wonderful lush green landscape on the island.
