The Greek Island of Zakynthos otherwise known as Zante has a temperate climate with warm summers enjoying over 3000 wonderful hours of sunshine every year.  Situated in the Greek Ionian Islands the weather on Zakynthos is very typically Mediterranean with a nice long summer season enjoying perfect conditions for a relaxing beach holiday.

Zakynthos Weather in Summer - May, June, July, August

June has average temperatures of 24C rising to 26C in August. July receives up to 12 hours of hot sunshine a day. The temperatures in the peak of summer sometimes reach above 30C although Zakynthos has these hot months tempered by the cooling winds that are called the 'meltemi' that blow across Greece from the north. 

Zakynthos Weather in Spring and Autumn - March, April, September, October

Spring sees the temperatures start to rise in Zakynthos hitting highs ranging from 14C to 19C during April and then 18C to 20C in May being the start of the summer season. Evenings can be a bit chilly but the sea is plenty warm enough to swim in and the weather generally very pleasant.

Autumn has temperatures very much like the spring but with an increasing likelihood of rain. The sun still shines between 7 and 8 hours a day during October, the end of the peak summer season.

Zakynthos Weather in Winter - November, December, January, February

During the winter months of November and December the daily average temperatures fall to between 14C and 16C dropping to a lowest 11C in January. Winter is very much the rainy season in Zakynthos with December being the wettest month by far. The high level of rainfall throughout these out-of-season months helps to maintain the lovely lush green landscape on the island.
