The Greek island of Rhodes is the largest of the Dodecanese group situated at the most eastern part of Greece. It enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate with lovely long hot summers and temperate winters. Rhodes does enjoy the longest holiday season of all the Greek Islands running from April to November. It boasts over 300 days sunshine a year.

Rhodes Weather in Summer - May, June, July, August

The busy tourist season begins in June when temperatures rise to 25C.They reach 28C in August with most days seeing almost 12 hours of sun. This climate is ideal for sunbathing on the islands' beaches. The high temperatures are usually tempered by the pleasant cooling breeze from the 'meltemi', the seasonal winds that blow from the northwest.  Rainfall during the summer months is vitually non-existent. 

Rhodes Weather in Spring and Autumn - March, April, September, October

Spring sees pleasant warm weather with up to 9 hours of sunshine every day. Temperatures in April average out at 16C, rising to 21C during May. The Spring is a great time to visit for those interested in sightseeing and outdoor activities although the sea will still be chilly and the general weather conditions a little unpredictable.

In the autumn the weather remains very warm with September and October seeing temperatures between 20C and 24C. The island still enjoys up to 10 hours of sunshine a day.

Rhodes Weather in Winter - November, December, January, February

Winters are mild with highs of 16C in November dropping to highs of 11C in January.  These out-of-season months can receive on average 4 hours of sunshine a day. In addition to winter sunshine this period sees plenty of rainfall which helps to keep the island lush with green vegetation.  December and January are the wettest months.
