Mallorca enjoys
lovely Mediterranean weather with mild pleasant winters and balmy hot
summers with each season completely contrasting each other.
Mallorca is a lovely green island with rolling fields and much lush
vegetation including olive groves. There are hundreds of lovely
picturesque coves and many wonderful stretches of long golden beach.
Much of the island is unspoilt and hiring a car is well worth it.
During July and
August there are over 10 hours of sunshine each day with average
temperatures approaching 30C. Of course, many a heat wave has
been known where temperatures have been in excess of this. The hot
sunny summer months are the peak of the holiday season in Mallorca.
In November, December
and January Mallorca is at its most quiet, although the island is
still attractive at this time of the year and attracts a good number
of holiday tourists. There is fine and mild conditions on most days
with average maximum temperatures around 13C.
Mallorca rainfall tends to be lowest in July and highest in October, November
and December. In the mountainous central regions the clouds may be
thicker and it may rain more often than in the lower coastal areas.
The Mallorca weather in the
southern resorts around Palma tend to offer slightly more consistent
weather than the nothern resorts like Alcudia. The southern
resorts have a far more popular winter season than the wetter and
cooler northern resorts. In the summer the weather throughout
the island is fabulous.
