Majorca has
lovely Mediterranean weather with mild pleasant winters and wonderful balmy hot
summers with each season completely contrasting each other.
Majorca is a lovely green island with vast areas of rolling fields and
much lush vegetation including olive groves. There are hundreds
of breathtaking picturesque coves and many wonderful stretches of long
golden beach. Much of the island is totally unspoilt and hiring
a car is well worth it.
July and
August have over 10 hours of sunshine each day with average
temperatures approaching 30C. There are heat waves where temperatures have been in excess of this! The hot
sunny summer months are the peak period of the holiday season in Majorca.
In November, December
and January Majorca is mostly quiet although the island is
still attractive and attracts a good number
of holiday tourists. There is fine and mild conditions on most winter days
with average maximum temperatures around 13C.
Majorca rainfall tends to be lowest in July / August and highest in October, November
and December. In the mountainous regions the clouds will be
thicker and it may rain more often than in the lower coastal areas.
The Majorca weather
in the southerly resorts around Palma tend to offer more consistent
weather than the nothern resorts like Alcudia. The southern
resorts have a far more popular winter season than the wetter and
cooler northern resorts. In the summer the weather throughout
the island of Majorca is fabulous!
