This assists to produce a much drier and less humid climate than other
Spanish islands.

Timanfaya National Park which makes a stunning visit.
Lanzarote is also
well known for beautiful golden sandy beaches, the best of which can
be found at Puerto del Carmen and Playa Blanca which lies next to the
unspoilt Papagayo peninsular.

known for having it's own "air-conditioning" in the way of lovely
cooling breezes which makes even the hottest summer days feel very
pleasant. In the winter months the sun remains very warm if a
sheltered spot can be found.
Rainfall is minimal
on Lanzarote with the most occurring in November and December.
Rain usually occurs in short sharp downpours that make any holiday
disruption minimal.
July, August and
September are the hottest and driest months with temperature often
breaking 30C. April, May and October are usually preferred
by those who love sunshine but don't want extreme heat.
January and February
offer lovely winter sunshine with temperatures usually just over 20C.
If you want a busy
resort more geared towards the young then Puerto del Carmen may be the
best choice. Playa Blanca retains more of it's fishing village
charm although it's rapidly expanding. Costa Teguise is also a
very popular and sophisticated resort. Playa Blanca in the south
tends to have less cloud cover and more hours of sunshine.
Overall Lanzarote
makes a wonderfully interesting island to visit with great beaches,
weather and sights. Many visitors go back every year.
