Halkidiki is in northern Greece and enjoys a typically Mediterranean climate like the rest of Greece.  Glorious weather with over 300 days of sunshine per year it attracts many holidaymakers every season. With an average annual temperature of 17.5C weather conditions throughout the year are pleasant and mild. Halkidiki experiences long hot summers, warm sunny days throughout the spring and autumn months, and cool wet winters.

Halkidiki Weather in Summer - May, June, July, August

In the height of the summer temperatures range from 24C to 27C with up to 12 hours of sunshine a day in July.  The region often sees summer thunderstorms.  No shortage of long hot sunny days ensure that the peak suumer season is always busy in Halkidiki with large numbers of tourists resulting in very popular beaches.

Halkidiki Weather in Spring and Autumn - March, April, September, October

Warm weather brings the start of the holiday season with temperatures beginning to rise in the spring-time climbing from 15C in April up to nearly 20C in May. The Spring months enjoy about 8 or 9 hours of sunshine a day, making it an excellent time to visit.  A perfect time to explore the region and enjoy sightseeing in comfortable pleasant temperatures.

The months of October and September still attract a good number of visitors with pleasant temperatures ranging from 17C to 23C.  These months still see between 6 and 8 hours of sunshine every day.

Halkidiki Weather in Winter - November, December, January, February

From November to February the temperature drops to a low of 5C. There is infrequent rainfall, with October, November and December experiencing the most rain. The Halkidiki region does see variations between the north and south of the peninsula. The mountainous areas become considerably colder sometimes even dropping slightly below 0C in the middle of winter.
