Cyprus Weather in Summer - May, June, July, August

The southern coast beach resorts all enjoy wonderful high temperatures during the summer months with up to an incredible 13 hours of sunshine a day making it the ideal destination for a beach holiday.

The central plain areas are equally as hot during daytime hours but after dark the temperatures drop which can produce mild and refreshingly cool evenings.

High season temperatures can reach 33c in coastal regions although the relief of cooling winds help reduce this. 

There are many hill based resorts which give welcome relief from the dry heat and are popular with people seeking peace and relaxation in very comfortable surroundings. Temperatures are very much milder, the air is fresher and humidity remains low.  In late summer the landscape can often look scorched due to constant sunshine and little rainfall for many months. Cyprus's sunshine record is one of the best in the Mediterranean.

Cyprus Weather in Winter - November, December, January, February

Climate in autumn and winter is warm temperatures up to 18c in December and a pleasant 5 hours of sunshine. Thus Cyprus is a popular winter holiday destination where sunbathing and water sports can still be enjoyed.

Most rainfall occurs during mid-winter but is not prolonged and therefore blue skies and settled weather soon returns. Only the region around the Troodos mountain range are cold for any length of time where snow falls and even skiing is possible.

Southern Cyprus offers the perfect combination of a year round warm climate and long hot summer season.
